The Place2Be provides one-to-one and group counselling sessions, plus a lunchtime drop-in service inside schools: ‘A place where you can talk to people about something that’s been stuck inside you’ says Jasmine, aged nine. We also support parents, carers and school staff members with dedicated counselling and training. By giving children the chance to explore their problems through talking, creative work and play, we enable them to cope now and to make better-informed decisions about their lives. Divorce, deprivation, abandonment, long-term family illness, bereavement, domestic violence and abuse are just some of the difficulties The Place2Be helps children cope with. The Place2Be is currently in 128 schools supporting over 42,000 children across the UK. With your help, we can reach 80,000 children by 2010.
