WE DID IT!!!!
We managed to keep on target and had 5 very full days of biking with a complete mixture of weather conditions (good old Britain!). Hannah's not quite at the point of remembering it as the best thing ever yet (bottom and neck still hurt 5 days later!) but we know it was a huge achievement and an experience we will never forget.
Thanks to all of our extremely generous friends we have exceeded our initial target therefore any money raised now will go directy to the work of Dignity and IcFEM, 2 extremely worthwhile charities. So please do continue to donate if you would like to; Stephen and I both appreciate it soooo much.
Photos will appear on facebook or email me if you'd like to see some.
Love,
The Rablens xxx
Hello Everyone!
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
We are going to be biking 370 miles from Manchester to the Scottish Highlands in 5 days to raise money for a 3 week charity trip to Kenya this summer and also to support the charities involved.
The trip is being orgnanised by a Manchester based Christian Charity called Dignity, who work within rural African communities promoting both practical and spiritual transformation of everyone they work with.
On the trip we are going to be supporting a Kenyan based charity called IcFEM, who do similar work to Dignity but are based in Western Kenya and focus specifically on accelerating community transformation.
For more information on either of the charities involved please check out link to Dignity's page on the left of the screen.
The total cost of the trip is £3000 for the two of us, which includes a contribution to IcFEM. Stephen and I have pledged to contribute at least half of this amount and therefore anything we raise above our target will go purely to the work of Dignity and IcFem and not the rest of our trip. Similarly all of the Gift Aid that is raised will go directly to the work of Dignity and not to supporting our trip.
We do both enjoy cycling....but know that this will be a huge challenge! The route takes us through the Dales, the border hills and the Cairngorms. We will be keeping costs at a minimum by camping en route (or staying with strategically based friends!) and have managed to book trains home from Aberdeen for only £15 each.
Anything you can give to support us in our venture will be massively appreciated - any amount will help us on our way!
