Update 24/08/2009 -
Well this is the last time I will be sending out emails before we leave (HOORAY! I hear you say.) After this please check the website directly to get updates while we are on “tour”!
Everything is pretty much sorted, just a few final things need to be resolved but nothing major. Both cars have been tested for a few 100 miles now so fingers crossed we will get there.
Again a big thank you for all your generous donations we have almost hit £2500.00 we just need one final push to hit the target.
Costumes are all sorted now and if you take a look at our Justgiving page http://justgiving.com/thesmokey and follow the link to more pictures we have posted the pictures that have gone out with our press release.
Aaron has put together a basic blog on this site that has a few more pictures in case you wanted to take a look:

Update 10/08/2009 -
I have just uploaded some pictures of the recent boot fair that we did in Lower Dicker we raised about £90 so ok was ok. I was however suprised at the amount of people who refused to donate anything! Baa humbug! But there you go. We are planning to do one more to try and sell the rest of the stuff and hope that will be as succesful.
Papers will be next week so keep your eyes peeled!
Update 15/7/2009 -
First a MASSIVE thank you to all that have donated on and offline, we are getting towards our target but there is still some way to go, so for those who haven't donated yet please, please, please can you pledge just a few £'s to help us, but most importantly, a great children’s charity!
Big thank you to Rob and Phil at Infinity, Steve at Clearwater and Paul and Chris of Premier Cru for the very generous donations!! Its all greatly appreciated. If you are looking to get your company on our vehicles time is running short as we are looking to go to the papers in the next TWO WEEKS!! So we will need your donation, stickers, or logos so we can get these organised for you, there is a minimum donation amount to do this so please contact me for more information.
Both cars are nearly through the MOT's. We have had a "few" problems with the Peugeots brakes but I think we are nearly there. As you can see from the photos the Micra is now black and complete with spoiler, side skirts and bonnet scoop. She is now just awaiting the application of the stickers which we have but are holding back on until the MOTs are 100%. Costumes are coming along but we still need the finishing touches before they are complete.
We are hoping to have the cars done for this Sunday where we will be harassing potential sponsors at the Laughton Show. People will also have the opportunity to sign the bonnet of the Peugeot for a small donation. For those who have donated already I can either put a message on for you or you can scribble whatever you want when you see the cars next.
The next step is the local papers so please keep your eyes open!
Thanks again to everyone your generosity its really appreciated!!!!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
As you may know we are taking part in the Sucata run http://www.sucatarun.com to Portugal over August bank holiday.
The mission: To drive a total of 2000KM from Rouen in the north of France to Cabo De Roca in Portugal, the most Westerly point in Europe. The trip will take 4 days averaging 500KM per day. After completion we are driving the vehicles a further 600KM to there final resting place in Mollina Spain.
Objective: To have as much fun as possible while raising money for a Great cause
The transport: The restriction of the event is that the Vehicle used can't cost more the £250. So in our true fashion we have tried to go one better and use vehicles that are obtained free of charge.
Vehicle 1: The Smokey - N Reg Peugeot 405, acquired with no MOT, tax etc... and had to be dug out then dragged out of a tip where it had been left for the last two years by its owner after a clutch failure. Complete with Mouldy seats, flat tires and lots of empty food wrappers she was a dream to behold
Vehicle 2: The Bandit - L Reg Nissan Micra Auto. Again no MOT or Tax and received free of charge through a friendly garage as a non runner. Small but perfectly formed the Bandit is ready to clock up the miles in style (and minimum comfort!!)
The Team:
Matt Hartfield
Kat Hartfield
Nicola Abbott
Aaron Clarke
Andy Turner
