My story

Well, we nearly made it. At 23.49pm we had successfully completed 268 stations in 18 hours, 21 minutes and 42 seconds.

That meant with only one station to go we were only 6 minutes outside the target time Guinness had set for the new world record for 269 stations.

Then, to our dismay, there were no more trains going to Heathrow Terminal 4 so we were unable to complete.

Thanks to all our supporters. You can look at your name on the map here: http://www.justinirwin.com/uploads/tubemap.pdf

Richard is running the Edinburgh Marathon for Asthma UK on 25 May so tt is not too late to support Asthma UK and get yourself on the map!!

Please select a station from this list http://www.justinirwin.com/uploads/tubes.xls

And then click on 'Sponsor us now' above, please write the station you want to sponsor in the message box.

What is the Tube Challenge? - The challenge is to visit all 269 stations (including the new Heathrow Terminal 5) and 253 miles of the London Underground in the shortest time possible, only using the tube, other public transport and your own two feet. The current record (for 268 stations) is 17 hours, 30 minutes and 51 seconds.

Asthma UK - In the UK, every seven minutes someone is admitted to hospital because of an asthma attack and every seven hours someone loses their life because of their asthma. Your support will mean Asthma UK can fund research projects to investigate the causes of asthma and provide vital services - such as the Asthma UK Adviceline and Kick Asthma Holidays for children with asthma - to help free people with asthma from its effects (see www.asthma.org.uk).

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Asthma UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

Richard and Justin
