Aintree University Hospital’s Critical Care team are currently raising funds to equip every bed space in the Critical Care Department with an IPad for patient use. The aim is to empower patients who are unable to speak due to temporary airways being inserted, sometimes for weeks or even months at a time due to the patient’s condition. Through using the IPad Patients will be able to communicate to their caregiver, family and friends during a stressful time in their lives. The Critical Care Team believes this will relieve frustration and anxiety helping to build and maintain vital relationships. Through using the various applications available on the IPad the Team hopes to improve mental stimulation, communication and interaction; ensuring patients recover quicker. But we need your help.
