OK. We are now on the way. First puncture on Tower Bridge! Hoping to get up at 5.30am tomorrow to set off and will then be battling aginst the wind and rain!! If we get the chance we will try and update this as much as we can en voyage! With a fair wind we hope to be in Paris on Saturday. Bon Chance!

This endeavour is the brain child of John Wootton Esq. After 20 years of sporting inactivity (and probably a few more!) plus reaching the mile stone of the big 4O, he decided that he should put a long talked about plan into action, which was to get fit and also try to raise a lot of money for charity, with fellow team mates Neil Aiken, Nigel Ball and Simon King this plan has now become a reality.

The challenge is to ride from London to Paris, via Calais, over 4 days covering 300 miles. It is called the long way down, most organised trips follow a route via Dieppe which is 100 shorter! We will be departing from London on 2 Sept  arriving in Paris (hopefully)on the 5 Sept  in time for a few well earned beers!

Just to make it a little harder we will be doing this project unaided, so will be carrying everything ourselves and paying our own way, thus maximising the amount of money going direct to the charity.

We have chosen CANCER RESEARCH UK as our charity because as we get older we all know family and friends who have been affected by this cruel disease, by raising our target objective of £10,000 this will go towards fighting this illness.
