WORLDwrite is an education charity with a development focus. Uncompromising in its campaigns for global equality the charity arranges events, conferences, global exchanges, documentary film making and free film training to champion aspirations and insist on the best for all. Keen to put its money where its mouth is, the charity also assists partner groups in developing countries with anything and everything from PC's to film schools to funds for a factory. WORLDwrite is volunteer led and run has an open door policy and encourages all-comers to get involved and recognise there are no limits to what's possible.

My story

WORLDwrite would like to invite you to the premieres of our widely anticipated documentaries on Monday 26^th March 7.30pm at London’s Rich Mix Cultural Foundation, 35-37 Bethnal Green Road, London, E1 6LA. Shot in Ghana, these two films celebrate Ghana’s 50^th anniversary of independence from British colonial rule by showcasing inspiring tales rarely heard in the UK.

A letter to Geldof features a town called Bisease, where Bob Geldof was crowned Chief of Development. The film explores the impact of his crowning and leads us to reflect on the meaning of promises and the role of celebrities.

Think Big showcases Ghanaians with big aspirations and big plans. Flash hotels, fab homes and full-on modernity are where it’s at; dependence makes Ghanaians sick. This film turns the usual pity fest on its head and showcases Ghanaians who are making it and making development happen.

The launch kicks off at 7.30pm with a wine reception followed by the screening of these two half-hour documentaries at 8pm. After the premiere we hope you will stay for further drinks and a chat in Rich Mix’s cool café space.

Places are limited so please book your seats on the form below indicating how many you want and leaving your name. We are asking for a minimum donation of £5 per seat but there is no maximum limit and all proceeds will go to WORLDwrite’s appeals for our Ghanaian partners and our youth film facility.
