We pioneer life-saving cancer research to help us beat cancer

Story

From family members and friends to other people’s friends and families we all know people who are battling, or have battled with cancer.

My family was unfortunate enough to experience this battle first hand, with the sad loss of Glenn Woodhouse last year. I have no doubt that if it weren't for the amazing developments in modern medicine, in part thanks to the excellent work done by Cancer Research UK, our time with Glenn would have been cut significantly shorter.

Cancer is indiscriminate, random and evil. With your help, no matter how small, we can all help to fund research that will hopefully, one day, provide the answer to beating this beast once and for all.

Cancer Research UK uses the money you donate to fund critical research that is already changing the lives of so many. From glass microscope slides to new research centres, from testing to breakthroughs, none of this is possible without our help.

Some of the money raised is used to go towards awareness and materials for Ambassadors, which have helped secure a £23 million Government investment into radiotherapy for the NHS in England.

The Challenge

The Welsh Three Peaks Challenge, lesser known than the National or Yorkshire Challenges, takes in three peaks of Wales: Snowdon in the North, Cadair Idris in mid-Wales, and Pen y Fan in the South.

The Welsh Three Peaks includes a total driving distance of 135 miles down the Cambrian Way, a total walking distance of 17 miles (27.4km) and an ascent of 2334 metres (7657ft), in less than 24-hours.

On 21st of October, I will be attempting the challenge with a friend of mine, Scott Haddon, who will be hiking in support of the Costa Foundation. Along with Scott and I, will be some of his colleagues and a driver.
