Pete & Jeremy Cycle The Three Peaks Challenge · 4 June 2008

Acorns supports more than 800 children and over 1,100 families every year. The charity needs to raise £14 million each year to provide its care services across hospices and community settings. Your support means Acorns can continue to be there for local families facing the unimaginable.

Story

Pete and Jeremy were in the Peak district one day with their friends Wilson and Mike when suddenly Pete had a ridiculous idea "Hey, I'd really like to do the three peaks challenge, but I'd like to do it on a bike!". Wilson and Mike were horrified at the notion; cycle between the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales? He must be mad! Of course, Jeremy's reaction was on the lines of "Yeah, let's do it!". So, in a week's time, Jez and Pete will be cycling between Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Mount Snowdon in North Wales. It's about 450 miles, so we're going to try and do 50 miles a day (or a peak + 25 miles). Oh, and no, we haven't done any proper training!

All sponsorship is going to Acorns Children's Hospice trust, which is a West Midlands based charity looking after terminally ill children (see box on the left).

So, will Pete and Jeremy manage to do it? Will they manage to raise £1000 in a week? Please give generously!
