Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I'm taking part in the Rajasthan Tiger Challenge, cycling 500km in India to fundraise for St Nicholas Hospice. Money raised will help them to continue to provide compassionate care and support for progressively and terminally ill people, and offer support, information and bereavement counselling to family and friends. All this is given without charge so fundraising activities are vital if they are to continue providing these services.
I cannot say thank you enough to the wonderful staff at the hospice, they made my mum's last couple of weeks comfortable, peaceful and special. Without them, I don't know how my Dad and I would have coped.
I've chosen St Nics Hospice as I wanted to raise money for a cause where the money raised would make a tangible difference to the patients. How your money helps:
£5 - keeps the hospice running for one minute
£10 - helps to buy a set of bathroom towels for patients
£32 - could enable catering staff to provide a patient with three wholesome meals for a day
£50 - could pay for a patient to receive a therapy session with a trained Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to help their rehabilitation
£140 - is how much it costs to fund a St Nicholas Nurse for a day to provide palliative care to patients
£290 - could allow a patient to visit the Day Hospice to enjoy a day of care, therapy and relaxation in a social and supportive environment
£450 - could cover the cost for a patient for a day in their In-Patient Unit. On average, patients stay on the Unit for 10 days
£3,500 - could pay for a 12 week course for a patient in the Day Hospice, giving them a chance to experience group support and individual care
£4,350 - is the amount needed every day to keep the In-Patient Unit running
£7,650 - could pay for a doctor at the Hospice for a month
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Nicholas Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
