My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

In the last year my life has changed dramatically and as a result I want to give something back by running the Flora London Marathon for the NSPCC.  By doing this I will be helping to raise awareness of the fantastic work the NSPCC do every day protecting children from cruelty.  By donating as much as you can, you can help make a real difference and it'll motivate me to get through those 26 miles!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure.  It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me. The NSPCC will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me today!

Many thanks for your support.  And a massive thank you to all those who have sponsored me so far.

p.s. If you know of anyone else who may be interested in sponsoring me please forward this message on to them so we can raise as much as we can to help as many children as possible.

p.p.s Thank you to Noel Thatcher @ Holly House and Errol Lynch @ www.tuinauk.com for keeping me on my feet through all the pain!!  Thanks Matt for the run.  Hope your knee is better.  And massive thanks to Maria who made all this possible.

Training Update:

26/2/06 - Ran my first competive half marathon today and completed it in 2hr 01m.  Really hilly course in Roding Valley.  Big thank you to everyone who has supported me so far - Nearly £2000 already!

1/3/06 - Disaster!  First major injuries.  The dreaded ITB and some obscure tendon in my foot (Peroneal).  Thankfully with Noel's help and a fantastic Sports Massage from Amanda Andreson (not to mention thousands of Ibuprofen tablets!) I'm back on my feet and looking to do the big 20 miler shortly.  Fingers crossed!

8/3/06 - 17 miles under the belt now.  Thank goodness for MP3 players.  The pain in the legs was not funny!  Think I've got a tear in my right quad though.  Lots of frozen peas!  Will rest up and try for the 20 miles in a couple of weeks time.

Marathon Day - I did it!

Hiya,

I thought you might like to know that the big day has come and gone and I'm still alive! I did it in 4 and half hours which I wasn't ecstatic about but the main thing is that together we have raised over £7,000 for the NSPCC so a big thank you to all who supported me.

The day was brilliant, well organised (thanks Mel and Katie) and in a strange masochistic way I enjoyed it immensely. Did the half in 1:59 but at 18 miles the  legs went and forced me to walk/run the remainder. The crowds were fantastic and to all the children who had jelly babies, jelly beans and opal fruits - I love you all!

If you know anyone else kind enough to sponsor me, please take a moment to send them the link to this page http://www.justgiving.com/TimCampbell.

Thanks and best wishes,

tc
