Story
I'm off t'Cuillins! On the first weekend in May I will be leaving the secure flatness of the Cheshire plain and joining my 3 trusty teamates in the first ever Talisker Trek to raise serious cash for the Woodland Trust.
The trek will be a challenging exploration of the remote Isle of Skye's Cuillin Hills and will take place over 3 days. We'll be whipped into shape by famous explorers Tom Avery and Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE.
With your help and generosity I am hoping to raise at least £500 for the Trust. The money will go towards planting thousands of trees across the country.
Having been a couch potato for sometime I felt that I needed to get off my backside and do something to get me fit. Unfortunately motivation was lacking until I heard about the the Talisker Trek. Without a doubt the Talisker attracted me more than Trek, given my love of many a malt whiskey.
However, my name came out of the hat and now I have to get fit in order to tackle some of finest mountains and raise money for a worthwhile environmental cause. I am totally dedicated to completing the event and will endeavour to drink a whiskey toast to everyone who sponsors me.
Many thanks for your support.
Tim
