Just to introduce ourselves, Team Malex is a group from Hinckley, Leicestershire, who love taking part in banger rallys to raise mone for charity. The team is named after our generous year on year sponsor, Malex Automotive.
We are veterans of the 2006, 2007, and 2008 Staples2Naples Rally, and have now swopped over to the Czech Wrecks 2009 International Banger Rally. So what is a banger rally? Basically our team has to find a car worth less than £150.00, and try and get it to the end of the rally, and in our case back again (something we didn't quite achieve in 2008!).
The cars, of course, have to pass MOT's and be road worthy, but possess that special banger quality, that of looking like a shed, and usually it's engine being about to expire! After raising £4000+ for Cancer Research UK, we now plan to raise funds for Help for Heroes.
We are looking for sponsorship for the 2009 season, and are happy to accept donations no matter how small, and all business sponsors will have there name featured on the car. If your budget is a little higher, businesses can pledge money for full colour logos to be featured on the car.
