Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. Having visited this orphanage several times and worked with young people at risk gang membership I am very excited about the
Nakuru Bore Hole and School Project. It will make a difference for
ex-street orphans by providing fresh water and a decent education for them in Nakuru. It will also be a
potentially life-changing event for young adults from tough inner-city estates in the UK, challenging them away from anti-social behaviour to become positive citizens.
Originally planned as a sponsored bike ride due to security issues in Nairobi Catalyst has changed this to a sponsored walk. It is 25 km long in the Rift Valley to raise funds be donated to the Nakuru community. The participants will young people from tough inner city backgrounds and business people from Devon, Oxfordshire and London. The young people are on a 12 month called COACH - Community Leadership programme that aims to enable them to become positive leaders in their community.
We are hoping to raise £36,000 in total for the cost of a bore hole in Nakuru that aims to provide water for an orphanage. The £7,600 will pay for a school roof and two places for young people on the trip.
In total, well over 150 Kenyan's will benefit from this project every day as well as 10 young adults from the UK.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Catalyst Urban Trust gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!
Thanks for your support.
