An enormous thank you to all those who sponsored me to take part in the St James¹s Place Foundation triathlon in aid of Hope and Homes for Children. The event took place on the morning of Sunday, October 4 in St Albans at a rather sharp 6.50am with a 400m swim, followed quickly by a 20km cycle and then a 5km run.

By some miracle I completed it all in a total of 1 hour and 39 minutes. Just in case you are a statto here is the data:

400m swim: 00:09:33 (quite happy with this)
20km cycle: 00:48:55 (much longer than expected. A stewards¹ enquiry has been launched. It was v hilly tho)
5km run: 00:40:46 (very happy with this as it was mostly on one leg).

Putting all this into perspective, the winner of the event completed it in00:59:46. He was a professional though!

But the most important piece of data is that I raised a total of £3,550 for Hope and Homes for Children. This amount turned out to be most raised by an
individual competing in the event . The photo on this page is of me picking up the award from a proper GB team triathlete (she's the one on the right!) - so an extra big thank you to you, a fantastic effort by you all to chip in for what is a brilliant cause.

For those of you who haven't yet sponsored me it is not too late. This page will be open until the end of 2009. if you want to find out more about the charity, there is link on the left hand side of the page. I really do urge you to have a look - it's a fantastic charity.

All best

Toby
