Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page where I'm planning to raise £1,200 for Prostate Cancer UK by taking on the London to Amsterdam Cycling Challenge.

3 of my close family have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in the last few years.  As something I never really considered previously, Prostate Cancer has now had a profound effect on my family and how I view the disease.

Their fight to beat the disease has given me the drive, determination and desire to get off my backside and do something about it.

This challenge is my chance to raise awareness of the disease and raise money for further research, especially as the chances of it affecting me in later life are likely to be greatly increased.

I'm delighted to be taking part in the challenge as the Club Champion for Crewe Alexandra, a team I have supported as a boy and the team the 3 family members I mentioned earlier all support, two are current season ticket holders along with myself.

The Alex have always been a big part of my life and it's great I can represent them in Europe!

This is not only a personal challenge in supporting a charity but also to train and complete the cycling route from London to Amsterdam.  I've only recently got back into the saddle for the first time since I was a young teenager and this will be the first endurance challenge I have ever taken part in.

My challenge of riding a bike is nothing compared to what my family members have gone through and what 40,000 men and their families in the UK go through when they are diagnosed each year.
