Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hello!

I have just received the awesome news that I have been accepted into what is considered to be the most prestigious drama school in the world - RADA - The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art on a one year acting course!

The Academy audition around 4000 people every year, and for my course only 15 men and 15 women are accepted globally. I am therefore very fortunate and grateful to have been offered this once in a lifetime experience at such a reputable establishment.

Training at RADA means the world to me, I have aspired to study at this school as long as I can remember, and this opportunity will enable me to get the necessary experience to succeed. My aspirations after the course are to act professionally in film, television and the theatre.

My education at the Thomas Hardye School and Weymouth College, have prepared me for the industry thus far. I immersed myself in Drama GCSE and A-level, receiving A grades. I also directed and featured in two major school productions, Jesus Christ Superstar and Scary Play, the latter winning a place at regional finals of the National Theatre Connections project. At Weymouth College I graduated with a Distinction in Performing Arts and additionally played principal roles with an independent theatre company.

Sharing with the wider community is incredibly important to me; I currently lead the Dorchester Youth Theatre, and have also conducted workshops and act as a teaching assistant at my former schools, the Thomas Hardye School and St Osmund’s Middle, on a voluntary basis. I have had involvement with the Dorchester Festival, the Carnival and Community Plays for many years.

Unfortunately, while my commitment to a career in acting is total, my personal financial circumstances wont come close to covering the cost alone . Furthermore there are no Government funds, subsidies, career development loans or bursaries available for this course - therefore its a very different ball game than going to university to do a degree.

I have also just been accepted into the National Youth Film Academy - after the academy rigorously auditioned over 2,000 applicants, I have been lucky enough to be selected along with 29 other actors, and 30 crew members!

If anyone out there, can spare a little throwing of change, or a more generous contribution I would be so incredibly grateful. I have worked hard to get to where I am now, and if you can part with even a little dollar, you’d be helping me so much!

In return I would be more than happy to:

  • Talk to you about my thespian lifestyle and skills at RADA
  • Baby Sit your kids
  • Perform / Do some sort of entertainment at
  •  A coffee and Catch up with me.
  •  Any advertising that i can do for the person to donate.
  •   Put on my Christmas card list.
  •   A meal cooked by myself. (For the second Highest Donation)
  •   An invite to my first BAFTA premiere
  • Custom promise (...any other ideas ? ... keep it clean please)

The training at RADA is intense, in excess of 36 hours per week, and so the opportunity and energy for part-time work is limited to the holidays.

This summer I'm doing as much work as I can as well as a sponsorship campaign beyond the realms of what is considered realistic!

Please give generously. Many many thanks, and much love to everyone who has shared this phenomenal journey so far with me!
