Just Walk 2009 · 9 May 2009 ·

We understand that navigating the complexities of limb loss and limb difference can be completely overwhelming. We provide excellent, FREE, accessible information and advice to empower all amputees and those with limb difference, and families and friends, to lead independent and fulfilled lives.

Story

This is a picture of my Dad on the first day he stood on his prosthetic leg.

The Limbless Association gave us the strength and resources to get through this difficult time.  They have a network of volunteers who are prepared to talk through any concerns that the patient or their family might have, and a wealth of information about every aspect of coping with amputation.

12th March 2009 was the anniversary of Dad's operation, and I asked him how he was coping.  He said "It's going well.  I've just got back on the tractor from harrowing the fields, although I do have a bit of trouble walking in really thick grass".  He has been able to find ways to get his farming lfe back.  His is a real success story, but there are others who have an even more difficult journey, and really need the assistance the Limbless Association can offer.  You can help by sponsoring me on this 40k walk.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Limbless Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
