Story

So... this feels a long time coming. Ever since my first fundraising attempt for the 2012 London Marathon, you may say I have been pretty much hooked completing all manner of short and long events.

In 2012 I also completed the Olympic Distance London Triathlon and it was at the expo I spotted the 'M-dot' tattoo on someones leg and my curiousness was piqued. Ever since, completing an Ironman 140.6 event has been at the front of my mind.

Last year in 2016, I completed the Wimbleball 70.3 Exmoor UK Half Ironman, knowing it was my first step on the road to the full 'shabang'! After finishing I realised how much more training would be required and so I decided not to just jump in to booking one up, but instead I would formulate a plan.

My plan is to fill these next few years with as many events as possible, and by completing as much training as I possibly can (all around the first year or so of my new daughter's life) - so not easy! I hope this sensible/cautious approach will carry me to the start line of the Wales Ironman 2018 in the best shape possible - ready to complete it and earn an 'M-dot' tattoo of my own.

Planned Events(liable to expand): Brighton Marathon 2017, Gt.Baddow 10 miles, London Vitality 10K 2017, Leeds Olympic Distance Tri, Royal Parks 1/2 mara 2017, Chelmsford Marathon 2017, Brighton Marathon 2018, London Marathon 2018, Wales Ironman 2018.

Being 5 years in remission is a very significant milestone. I feel extremely grateful everyday for my successful battle with Bone Cancer. Charities like BCRT are essential to give others hope and help to fight this horrific problem, and I'm hopeful that anything I raise will go towards helping others battling this condition.

I am planning a fundraising event next year (a repeat of 2012's successful quiz night) to help us reach this total. Every penny helps this incredible charity and goes directly towards the fight to cure Bone Cancer.
