My story

Firstly, thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Hope you've got your cheque book with you!

We're a pair of strapping British gentlemen called Nick and Sam, who'll be driving from Hyde Park in London to Ulan Batar in Mongolia, starting 5th July 2008.  We'll be using a woefully inadequate machine to accomplish this epic feat, namely a 1990 Bedford Rascal Van named Audrey. She's equipped with a 970cc engine churning out an unprecedented 44 brake horse power - more than enough. The journey is anywhere between 8,000 and 10,000 miles dependent on how often we get lost and if we stop for directions (we're men, we won't).

So, get your wallet/purse/sporran out, retrieve something with the Queens Head or an expiry date & available credit,  and get yourself signed up to support two intrepid explorers pushing the boundaries of charity giving!

We're raising money for two worthy charities. This page is dedicated to Macmillan Cancer Support who strive to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional and financial support and push for better cancer care.

We're also raising money for  Save the Children. Save the Children is a UK charity  that works on behalf of children in both Mongolia and around the world who suffer from poverty, disease, injustice and violence. If you'd prefer to donate to Save the Children, Click Here

Once we arrive in Mongolia our top-notch van will be donated to CDPF (Childrens Development Protection Fund), which is a Mongolian Charity supporting children in difficult situations throughout Mongolia. CDPF will then auction Audrey to raise funds for their cause.

Donating through justgiving is a simple, fast and totally secure method of making sure your money goes where it's needed. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor us as Macmillan Cancer Support will receive your money faster, as well as (if you are a UK taxpayer) an extra 28% will be added to your donation via Gift Aid at no cost to you!

For those of you with larger than average wallets, we're also looking for people to sponsor our petrol for each different country we'll be passing through. If this sounds like fun, copy this address into your e-mail doodle . . .  .
