As I'm in my 30th year, I've foolishly decided that now is the time to run 13 miles on the hilly streets of Sheffield to raise some money for charity.
The aim of the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation is to fund projects that expand spinal injury research and development, encourage stem cell research and surgery and promote post-cure rehabilitation for spinal injury patients.
Many of you will know that I've had back problems for most of my life and had to have a number of operations. After the last one I spent some time in the Spinal Injuries Unit at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. It's not a nice place to spend any time the sight of people coming in having been paralysed from accidents is depressing to say the least. This kind of research offers some hope to spinal injury victims who otherwise are facing the prospect of being paralysed (to varying extents) for the rest of their life.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
Thanks a lot!
