My story

Despite being around seven stone overweight, smoking and drinking too much, radically unfit, disinterested in sports and physical activity altogether and the best part of 50 , in a completely insane moment I accepted a challenge to enter a marathon and whatever my regrets about that moment of insanity or however much I say  that if I had the chance again I would decline, I find myself in the crazy situation that I am entered in the New York Marathon this November.
Having dug myself into that hole I thought that someone should benefit from it so I thought hard and spoke to lots of people about a worthwhile charity to represent and as a result am supporting Marie Curie Cancer care .Most of us have  friends or relatives whose lives have been tragically effected by this dreadful disease that is all too prevalent today and seems to be growing all the time so please sponsor me for as much as you can, however small the amount, because when added together it really mounts up.

I hope you will be able to support me in this madness as I could use all the support I can get and as there is probably a good chance I will have a heart attack or suffer serious long-term damage it must be worth a pound or two mustn't it?  Either way it would be nice to get as much as possible to help a worthwhile cause.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Marie Curie Cancer Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Your support is really appreciated.

We were going to sponsor £2 a mile but it might be too much for you after those boozy meals to reach the finish. Good luck to one crazy lawyer. Donation by Ian, Vera, Eric & Jeremy 03/07/08
