Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. Our mission is to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. These serious mental illnesses ruin and, too often, take lives. Our Helpline is available online or by phone for anyone suffering, as well as their family and friends.

Story

Hi there,

Thanks for visiting this site. Yup, Team Perry is back again!

As some of you will be aware, the Perry family sadly lost their sister / daughter following a long battle with bulimia and the desire to do something positive to help others has not diminished.

This year, we have a new team made up of seasoned marathoners, an experienced triathlete, a complete marathon virgin and a gorilla. Yes, thats right - a gorilla.

The challenge will involve several miserable months of training, lots of early morning starts and several painful hours working our way round the course itself.

Team Perry has raised over £60,000 so far and we just keep going because it feels so good to try and make a difference! We know that many of you have supported us over the years, so we will appreciate any size of donation you feel able to make.

These generous donations will help BEAT to continue to offer support and advice to people with eating disorders. And it couldn't be easier to make your donation. This site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us, BEAT will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your continued support for this great charity. We hope to see you somewhere on the London Marathon course!

Luke, Ali, Dom (aka gorilla) and Justin
