*****************THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!!!!!!!!****************

I DID IT , I DID IT , I DID IT!!! OH MY, I ACTUALLY RAN 26.2 MILES, THE LONDON MARATHON!!!

4 HOURS 55 MINS!!!! I DIDNT STOP AT ALL, RAN THE WHOLE THING!!!!

AM UNSURE OF HOW I MANAGED THIS, FOR THOSE WHO KNOW ME, YOU KNOW HOW HARD I FOUND THE TRAINING BUT MY GOODNESS, I RAN THE LONDON MARATHON!! STILL CANT BELIEVE IT REALLY!!

I AM ACHING AND HAVE VERY SORE & NASTY TOES BUT I CAN SAY IT IS ALL WORTH IT.

THE THOUGHT OF ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE GIVEN TO STARLIGHT KEPT ME GOING AND GAVE ME THE STRENGTH TO NOT STOP AND JUST KEEP RUNNING EVEN WHEN TIRED. I COULDNT LET ANY OF YOU DOWN AND FOR MY GORGEOUS SON, RYAN, WHO IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND ALL OF THIS.

THANKYOU AGAIN TO ALL OF YOU ON THIS PAGE AND THOSE WHO HAVE GIVEN ALONG THE WAY AND DONATED VIA FORMS/COLLECTION TINS ETC. YOU MADE THIS FANTASTIC AMOUNT POSSIBLE AND SO MANY CHILDREN WILL GET THEIR WISH NOW!!

HERE IS MY STORY AS IT READ BEFORE I DID THE LONDON MARATHON (YES I DID THE LONDON MARATHON!!)  FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT READ IT YET, BUT THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU.

My son Ryan, 5, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2008 after suffering from epilepsy. He had major brain surgery in Jan 2009 to debulk the tumor, a lot of it unfortunately is inoperable as it has grown too deep and wrapped itself round nerves so Ryan began chemotherapy in Feb 09. It will last at least 18 months so we have a long stretch ahead. They hope the chemo will kill the tumor to stop it growing. He is so brave and amazing though, he never complains and takes it all in his stride. It is devastating to have this happen to your child, not something you expect and you are totally helpless.

My way of trying to do something is to raise money in his name. The Starlight foundation I have chosen have granted Ryan his wish.

WE HAVE JUST SPENT THE MOST AMAZING FEW DAYS AWAY WITH STARLIGHT IN LAPLAND.(december 2009) THERE WERE 12 OTHER FAMILIES WHO ALL DESERVE THE MOST FANTASTIC TIME AWAY. RYAN ENJOYED EVERY SECOND, TOBOGGANING, HUSKIE RIDES, REINDEER RIDES, MEETING FATHER CHRISTMAS! THIS BREAK HAS GIVEN US ALL SO MANY HAPPY MEMORIES AND WITH ALL HE IS STILL GOING THROUGH WAS A VERY WELCOME TREAT!!

This is my way of giving something back as way of our thanks. I have, for some reason, agreed to run the London Marathon 2010 for them and for Ryan. This will be such a massive challenge for me as I am not a runner (simply a wine & chocolate girl) but just thinking of Ryan and how brave he is should get me through (in fact when I started training in May I couldnt do a minute). Starlight rely solely on donations to grant sick children their wishes all over the country. For some children this may be their final dream.

******************As you can see the target they have set me has already been achieved thanks to the kindness & generosity of everyone. Please dont think that my fundraising is done though, it would be great to smash the target. Think of how many other children could then have their dream come true.*********************

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Starlight Children's Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now and thankyou from the bottom of my heart.

PLEASE NOTE, ALL THE MONEY RAISED OFFLINE INCLUDES LARGE AMOUNTS RAISED FROM  A RACE NIGHT, COLLECTION TIN DONATIONS, A SPONSORED WALK BY LITTLE BLOSSOMS NURSERY GRIMSBY AND A SPONSORED ASSUALT COURSE BY THE CHILDREN OF LISLE MARSDEN PRESCHOOL. A LARGE DONATION HAS ALSO BEEN FROM THE GRIMSBY FISHERIES OFFICES, THE HUMBER CHARITIES COMMITTEE & ANOTHER LARGE DONATION MADE FROM MEN WORKING AT NOVARTIS FOR LES & CAPES AND A LARGE DONATION FROM THE MEN OF VITAL RESOURCES AND EIWHS-SMITHS THANKYOU ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
