As I will be celebrating my 50th Birthday later this year I decided to do a charity fundraiser in memory of my lovely Mum - Astrid who would have enjoyed celebrating my Birthday with me had she not lost her courageous fight against Breast Cancer & been taken from her family prematurely at the age of 62. 

Mum was the most generous, considerate & caring person who was always there to support her family & friends. It is tragic that she has not seen the two grandsons she adored grow up & enjoy their successes. Losing Mum has left a huge gap in the lives of all of her family and friends. She was dearly loved by all who knew her.

Following the death of Mum, a close friend also lost her life to Breast Cancer leaving behind her husband & teenage son.

12,000 women die every year from Breast Cancer. Breakthrough Breast Cancer is the UK's leading charity dedicated to stopping women dying from Breast Cancer. With the funds raised by their supporters they are finding new treatments, discovering the causes, promoting early detection & ensuring the best possible care for women diagnosed with the disease.

On the weekend of the 14th June, along with a group of friends, I will be completing the Welsh Coastline Challenge, a 22 mile trek along the South Wales coastline. All of my costs are being covered by myself so, therefore any money raised through sponsorship will go direct to the Breakthrough charity.

I do realise how often we are asked to support charities but if you are able to give any small amount this would be very much appreciated & would be the best birthday present I could wish for.
