WE MADE IT!!!!! We did the entire 100km, as a team of 4, in just over 26 hours. It was a real struggle, a real team effort and a real super achievement, especially as the weather was so bad. We had heavy rain for the first 5-6 hours, with serious mud underfoot. We walked through the day and night, with lots of rain, mud, rocky paths and, in the end, we were all suffering from very sore legs and/or feet, but we were not going to be beaten by that! Stubborness, togetherness and a positive attitude made for that. We passed the finish line, all four together, still in a good mood, on Sunday morning and we proudly received our well earned medals. We now need some time to let our bodies recover from the ordeal.

Training update: This weekend we've walked 33km, over 2 sections of the actual Trailwalker course, and back, in just under 6hrs, just for fun!!! This is a third of the actual Trailwalker route. We did the night stages, in both directions, so that we'll be well prepared for these sections of the 'Big Walk', in only 4 weeks time. During our practice session we had warmth, cold, severe wind and horizontal rain, as well as massive inclines and descends. Nice!

Training update: This weekend just gone we did a 30km practice walk (in under 6 hours), starting from the actual starting point of Trailwalker UK 2011, and taking in the very steep hills of the South Downs in the process. It was a very good way to experience some of what we are to expect in July. We all felt OK during the walk, but slightly weary afterwards, and this was just 30km! Still, we are more than 2 months off the actual walk, so plenty of time to get even fitter still!

Training update: We walked, as a team, 16 miles, or 26 km, on the Thames Path, inside 5 hours! Was nice, warm and sunny, and we had a good time doing it. Promises a lot for our real walk in July. Next time we'll walk a bit more again.

Training update: We are all walking, running or going to the gym already, to get fitter and stronger. We have walked around Bewl Water (20km) within 3.5 hours, and this weekend we're walking some 26km, as a team! More weekend walks are planned as well. We'll keep you informed about our training progress.

Trailwalker UK 2011 is one of the world's toughest charity events: it's a 100km (62m) walk over the hilly South Downs of England, for teams of 4 people. The walk has to be completed in 30 hours, but we aim to do it within 1 day - 24hrs!!! The walk is equivalent to doing 2 and a half Marathons, and climbing both Ben Nevis and Snowdon! Please see www.oxfam.org.uk/trailwalker and watch the video.

It was Andy's idea to do something challenging, Pete agreed to join him and he then got Den (Adrian)(a 'Kilimanjaro buddy') and his girlfriend Emily to make up the team of four. We are calling ourselves 'Team ADEPT'.

This year is the 30th Anniversary of Trailwalker, originally an exercise for the Gurkhas and now a fundraising event for Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust.
