Over the summer of 2010, Hal Roberts, Dave Chapman and Sam Jones cycled 3,930 miles coast-to-coast across the USA to raise money for children's cancer charity CLIC Sargent.
This extract from their website outlines their work:
"We have one simple aim: to ease the burden of childhood cancer on children, young people and their families.
We help children and young people with cancer and their families with the trauma of diagnosis, the often long journey through treatment… and continue to support them afterwards."

The journey took us across 10 states, 5 mountain ranges, and through some extreme conditions and heat. We started out in Beverly Beach, Maryland on the Atlantic coast and finished in San Francisco, California on the Pacific coast, and we completed this immense challenge in 49 days!
We paid for all of our expenses ourselves, including flights, food, accomodation and gear, so that every penny that we raise will go to help the brave children battling against cancer.
We were completely unassited, so we had to carry a lot of equipment with us, such as camping equipment, clothes, repair kits, and of course a digital camera to capture all of those wonderful landscapes!
We put in a lot of effort to complete this journey so please make our efforts worthwhile and donate as much as you can!
So please dig deep and support us!
Hal, Dave, and Sam
