Hi Everyone,
Local women Anna, Joanna and Joan have joined forces to raise money for The Marie Curie Hospice in Liverpool.
Most of us know someone who has benefitted from the Hospice and the fantistic job it does in giving support and care to patients and their families at such a difficult time. It costs £4.2 million a year to run the hospice and £20 per day per patient for nursing care.
Challenge: High Atlas Mountain Trek, 25 - 29 September. This trek has been organised by the hospice. It involves a 3 day climb to the highest point in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, up steep rocky paths to an altitude of 4,050 metres.
To do this we need to raise a minimum of £5000 before the end of July. So we will be relying on your generous support to achieve this goal. We are busy training for this and organising fund raising events such as raffles, bag packs, auctions and music events. We will keep you informed of our progress and planned events.
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page and for your support for a very good cause.
Just an update on our fundraising - we have sold ceramic hearts for valentines day and raised £800, collections in pubs on St Patrick's weekend £400 approx., Easter Egg raffle approx £350, ESOL tutors raised £100 on food sale, supermarket collections £700, Liverpool to Chester cycle ride by Steve & Andy raised £360 approx., Music Night at Casa £800. Now planning a cocktail party to finish off our fundraising endeavours.
Thank you all so much for being so generous in your contributions and support in our fundraising efforts for Marie Curie hospice. We could not have done it without you.
Special thanks to Tony and Leanne and Fields of Dub, DJ Sunny and Amnesiacs and Jackie at The Casa.
Anna, Joanna and Joan XXX
