On the 19th July Lloyd Scott and his 30’ replica T-Rex dinosaur will begin their epic 1000+ mile trek from Land’s End to John o’ Groats. T-Rex stands at 12 feet high and 30 feet long – the full size of the prehistoric predator! The trek will take 70 days, stopping in at major towns and cities en route and finishing on 27th September at John o’ Groats.
20 years ago he was diagnosed with leukaemia and was one of the very first recipients of a bone marrow transplant which saved his life. He spent his time in hospital in an environment where all of the people around him were elderly and dying of cancer, so understands fully the importance of providing young people the specialist care that Teenage Cancer Trust units offer.

Teenage Cancer Trust builds specialist units in NHS hospitals where teenagers and young adults can be treated with others their own age. There are currently ten units around the UK but the aim is to give every young person with cancer in this country access to a unit – which means building 13 more units by 2012. Each unit costs over £2million to build and equip and we have to raise all of this money ourselves.
Teenage Cancer Trust units are not like ordinary hospital wards. Instead, they provide teenagers with an environment where they can get on with being teenagers. At the same time, patients are provided with the best possible medical treatment in a recognised centre of excellence.
