On 2nd July 2008, 12 Officers from Greater Manchester Police and their support team will embark on the challenge of a lifetime. They plan to cycle from John O'Groats to Lands End, a distance of 1000 miles.

On reaching Lands End they will then run to Dover, a distance of 400 miles whereupon they will swim the English Channel to Calais. They plan to undertake this challenge travelling non-stop, 24 hours a day cycling, running and swimming both day and night until the task is completed.

Members of the team are veterans from the Lands End to John O'Groats run completed in 2003, when ten officers ran day and night completing the 1000 miles in 5 days 3 hours beating the previous Police record by 20 hours and more importantly raising in excess of £20,000.
