Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page, Now I am doing this sodding 3 peaks challenge for a really, really good cause and I want your dosh.
The St. Barnabas 3 Peaks Challenge an independent attempt to climb the 10, 300 FT of the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales inside 24 hours including the 450 miles between the mountains to raise a whopping £10,000 towards the St. Barnabas Building a Dream appeal! This all takes place on 20th May 2010.
St Barnabas House is an independent charitable hospice which offers free care to patients affected by advanced illness and their families. This does however come at a cost and the hospice costs over £4 million to run and less than one third statutory sources. For every £1 that St. Barnabas House needs to survive over 70p needs to be fund raised!
Although The St Barnabas House Team deliver the best care and support possible with the facilities at hand the race is on to create a a brand new, purpose-built facility that will provide the very best hospice care for people through the 21st century and beyond.
The fantastic new hospice will be something of which the community can be really proud - a landmark building and a beacon in the field of specialist palliative care. With this new appeal, St Barnabas is, quite simply, Building a Dream.
The new St Barnabas will cost £13.5 million to build and equip and thanks to tireless fund raising St. Barnabas House have announced that only the last £2.5 million still needs to be raised and this is why every donation is important.
Please remember that the challenge itself may only take 24 hours but the training, planning and support of everyone involved is mammoth as is endurance required to complete the attempt.
Every penny that we raise is a penny closer to providing someone with the best possible care in the most difficult of times. Please donate what you can now!
Anyway check out the website @ and see what its all about.
