"Just before Christmas 2016 my Mum was confirmed as having advanced pulmonary fibrosis having had breathing difficulties (bronchiectasis) and other complications for years, she was given approximately 6 months to live. 

In December 2016, we were assigned a caseworker who worked very
closely with my Mum answering any questions she had and also helping her come to terms with the diagnosis. My Mum described her as an angel – it takes a special kind of person to do the job they do.  My mum was offered classes and workshops at the hospice and could have spent her final days there but elected to stay at home where she was visited at regular intervals by Abi, her caseworker.

Luckily, due mostly to my Mum's stubborn determination she was with us until January 2018.
