Update 25/08/2005: It's over! That was the longest 19 hours 35 minutes ever! We didn't quite manage the full 274, we did get to 259 though, which is a cracking effort all round. I'll link to a proper write up when I've written one, but for now we have some pictures:

Over 1,300 pounds! We still can't believe it!
Thanks everyone again! Cheers, Norm & Matt ------------------------------------------------------------- Hello charitable person, What's going on? On a Secret Date not too far away, Norm and Matt will be joining a group of other people who are up for a challenge, and trying to travel the whole tube system in a single day - visiting every station on the London Underground network (that's 274 stations not including Heathrow Terminal 4). Why? London was shocked by the recent bombings and bombing attempts. We are showing that London will not be brought to its knees by such action. We will ride the tube in defiance, and raise money for those affected. Where does the money go? All the money raised will go to the London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund. Any personal expenses will be covered by us, and not from the donations. Who are we? Two blokes who love the London experience. Norm was born in the London borough of Barnet, and has spent two periods living in Finchley, and a while in Docklands (though currently resides near Edinburgh!) Matt was born in the Midlands, but has lived in Finchley for many years now, choosing to buy a flat in the area. Where can I find out more about this? The event home page: http://www.tuberelief.co.uk/ The relief fund, where all the proceeds will go: http://www.london.gov.uk/mayor/london-bombings/relief-fund.jsp Geoff Marshall (the organiser): http://www.geofftech.co.uk/ The tube challenge page: http://www.tubechallenge.com/ What do I do now? Sponsor us for the challenge! It's easy, just follow the link. Don't forget to mention you are a UK tax payer, then we get a gift aid contribution from the Government too. Alternatively, sponsor us per station! Send an email to tube@tiddlywink.net with how much you'd like to pledge per station, and we'll contact you with the results afterwards, then you can enter it through this website! Cheers! Norm & Matt ------------------------------------------------------------- Update 12/08/2005 : Gosh! - over 500 pounds already! This is fantastic, thank you all very much. The date is drawing closer, and Matt and I have been revising our planned route (some stations are only open between certain hours, so you must be well prepared). There will be plenty of photos and maybe a video or two, so I'll make sure you're all told where to look. Thanks again! Norm. -------------------------------------------------------------
