My story

Thanks for getting as far as our JustGiving page, we really appreciate it!

As many of you will know, we were born prematurely at 30 weeks (c. 2 months early), weighing just 3 pounds each, and spent quite a lot of time in incubators, getting up to full speed!  Despite our mini beginnings, we grew up with grand ambitions, and have decided to challenge ourselves to run The Great North Run!  

TAMBA (the Twin and Multiple Birth Association) is a charity set up by parents of twins, triplets and higher multiples and interested professionals.  TAMBA's campaigns, research and support services directly help thousands of parents and professionals meet the unique challenges that multiple birth families face.  They have specific support groups to help parents of twins with Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome, single parents caring for multiples and parents of multiples with special needs.  TAMBA also organise events and courses for families with multiples, to get them out of the house and introduce them to others in a similar situation.  In addition, they run a Bereavement Support Group to support parents and carers who have lost a child.  

TAMBA seems an obvious choice of charity for us, and deserving of some much needed funds!
