UPDATE:
I did the 10-mile Midnight Walk in Stevenage on 30 May in memory of my Dad, Richard Cadorette and my friend Jan's Dad - Reg Morgan - 2 great men! All sponsorship money raised is going to Sue Ryder Care - 1 great charity!
It took 3.5 hours to finish and my other half Mike was beside be all the way encouraging me to carry on (he ended up with 2 feet full of blisters)! It was painful as my ankle, knee and hip (my weak side) nearly gave out, but I finished!
Thanks to everyone who sponsored and had faith in me! And thanks to my Dad for sending down those heavenly rays to give me strength to walk through the pain in the end!
Why I did this Walk
Both my Dad and Reg, whom I worked with, had a superb sense of humour, they did much for other people, were proud of their work and were great family men. Both were taken too quickly and both are still sadly missed.
Some people and families, however, have to deal with long-term illness. Sue Ryder Care can provide care in people's own homes, in the community and through their specialist hospices and neurological care centres.
Their highly trained doctors, nurses, carers, social workers, therapists and volunteers are dedicated to helping people get the best from life.
Working in partnership with health and social care providers they offer person-centred care that meets all of an individual's needs whether they are physical, psychological or spiritual.
Everyone's donation will make a huge difference. Thank you all!
