Why your donation matters

"Receiving the Vice Chancellor's Award gave me a real confidence boost. Although my grades had always been good, it was such a great feeling to know that someone esle believed in me so much that they were willing to award me with a scholarship. People should continue to support Education by donating money to things such as scholarships and resarch because they can have a massive impact on individuals' lives, who will in turn use their skills and potential to help make the world a better place."

-Emily Belfield. Studying Criminological and Forensic Psychology. Vice Chancellor's Award 2010

Case study: donations in action

"I think scholarships, prizes, and bursaries help students to stand out in the job market after they graduate. Potential employers will see that the student has great determination, drive and motivation. The University has given them the opportunity to strive for something more and given them the funding to do so. Employers will respect that and these types of awards set you apart from other job applicants.

Since getting the first bursary to go to America other opportunities have come my way, including attending Education Without Borders event in United Arab Emirates.

I am now successfully working as a Supply Co-ordinator for a Danish shipping company as a direct result of this scholarship."
