Being ex forces and having friends who are still serving, I hear all the time on the news, radio and other sources of media the horrifying stories of events happening in Afghanistan, Iraq and so on. I was lucky, I left the RAF before any of the conflicts of recent times began. For many, the luck wasn't so fortunate.

I'm organising a charity event in Widnes which will include musical performances and more to raise as much money as I possibly can for "Help for Heroes". I plan to continue organising bigger events as time goes on to reach an initial target of £50,000.00. This will hopefully increase as I get closer to the target; I will never reach it as I plan to increase it each time I approach it.

I feel very passionate about this as I started to serve my country when I joined the RAF; I didn't stop serving it when I left.


The charity event will have performances from:

Louise Marie - www.louise-marie.co.uk (a talented young singer from Widnes)

John George - www.ultimate-elvis-uk.valleytaff.co.uk (Elvis Tribute Artist who's made a massive impact on Canada and the UK)

The Sundowners - Widnes based 7 piece Irish/Country band - real foot tapping music!
