I did it! This is me running the last few metres to the finish line. The race started off well, by mile 6 it was all still very exciting, by mile 14 my enthusiam had waned slightly... but thanks to all my friends and family that were out on the day cheering me on it soon picked up again and I made it round the 26.2 miles in 4 hours, 50 minutes and 15 seconds.
Thanks to everyone who has sponsored me to far, never imagined I'd reach anywhere near £1500 so thankyou to everyone for making that happen!
But don't lose hope - you can still sponsor me - read more below to find out why you should....
Thankyou for visiting my fundraising page, Sense is a charity that supports people with deafblindness and their families and carers.
As I'm sure many of you can imagine, living without sight or hearing is not easy and can severely affect children's developmental progress. Advice and family support is vitally important in the early years and babies and young children benefit greatly from integrated development programmes which Sense help provide.
Sense works to support parents in understanding their children's needs, providing respite breaks and comunicator guides amongst many other invaluable resources. They don't just work with children with deafblindness, but also with adults and older adults too.
Please sponsor me in running the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon and support an essential service to those affected by deafblindness.
Thankyou.
Vanessa.
