David Van Zanten plays right back for St.Mirren Football Club in the Scottish Premier League. The Irishman with a sprinkling of Dutch models himself on Roberto Carlos with his dynamic runs into the opposition half, however despite his undoubted ability his goal scoring record is frankly abysmal !

Recently he has come close to notching on a couple of occasions and after a bit of craic on Twitter about it we decided to sponsor him through the website for £100 per goal he scores this season and donate the money to the charity of his choice.

DVZ chose the Yorkhill foundation as his charity and accepted the challenge.

We then discussed this on the forum and others decided to pitch in too. We got up to £670 per goal and decided to open this up to Saints fans, and anyone else, who wanted to join in, so we created this page to capture all the donations.

Then we thought, hang on a minute, what if the unthinkable happens, Vanzy might not score this season !?

So, we decided we would all fork up anyway if he took a forfeit which he accepted and which was then decided upon byhis  fellow Saints defensive stalwart Lee Mair.

So, by the end of the last HOME game of the season, if Vanzy has not scored any goals he must take to the field after the match wearing only a mankini, with the microphone, signing "Like A Virgin" by Madonna. Mairzo you are sick man !

We will also arrange to have fundraising buckets available on that day in the unlikely event that it comes to pass :-)

Our collection at the stadium on Sat 17th Jan versus Ross County raised a further £816.64 for the cause. Great work buddies !
