We, young professionals from Ukraine living and working in London, would like to support education and development of children with disabilities and orphans in Ukraine through providing them with English language study materials and computers. We believe that education and access to information are important drivers of development in Ukraine and critical to the future success of these kids. We sincerely hope that you will be willing to join us in supporting this cause/project.
We are launching a fundraising campaign to support an educational - rehabilitation centre “The Special Child” (the “Centre”) located in a small town of Rivne, Ukraine. However, as neither of us wishes to run, swim, or cycle more than 10 miles, we have decided to take it easy and hold a few fun events throughout the summer instead.
Our target budget is £2,000 and the goal of our fundraising campaign is two-fold:
1. to provide the Centre with English language study manuals; and2. to provide new or used laptops which will provide means of access to information for children at the Centre and therefore help them to be more connected with the world.
Despite various learning challenges these children encounter, the teachers and therapists make an enormous effort to maximize children’s exposure to the normal educational process and ensure their social adaptation and integration into the society. Specifically, a comprehensive educational program had been developed, which includes, among other things, study of foreign languages and English in particular.
The kick-off event - Challenge of the Nations International Picnic - will take place on 13 June in Hyde Park. It would be great if you could also come along and enjoy the adventurous and competitive spirit of various fun games and challenges, meet new people and simply have fun in the name of great cause!
Thank you very much for your support.
