Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
We did it!! Despite scorching temperatures (only one casualty with heat-stroke!) and never-ending hills (some even seemed like mountains by the end of 10 hours of walking!), we finally arrived in Eastbourne on Sunday at 3.30pm, where it was wonderful to be greeted by family and friends. The walk from Amberley, along the South Downs Way, was challenging to say the least, especially on the 'old' leg muscles!! (The Seven Sisters felt more like fourteen!) Running out of water on the second day with still a few miles to go, was not nice but we made it, gasping for a pint! The breathtaking scenery, wonderful company and many laughs along the way, kept us going through the pain of our blisters and aching muscles, (nurofen, paracetamol and the compeeds helped too! - we really should buy shares in them before we do it again!).
As I am sure most of you know it is in memory of Madeleine's brother Gavin who died three years ago and in aid of Woking Hospice who were so wonderful to him and all the family. So please keep giving if you can.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Woking Hospice gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Thank you for your continued and very generous support for this very worthy cause. Love and thanks from us all, Madeleine, Janet, Linda, Caroline, Ali, Sarah, Jane, Pauline, Alice, Julie, Margie & Joanne xxxxx
