To help support a community project in , we will be taking part in an epic sponsored bounce-a-thon on giant space hoppers which will test will test our team spirit, physical prowess and determination! Please read on for more details.
Who are we?
Our team Wallace and Grontmij is made up of six Grontmij employees who are taking part in the Times Leadership Challenge. After a successful first round a few months ago, we are now through to the semi-finals and have been offered the hopper-tunity to help the village community in that will be hosting the finals of the Challenge!
The Project
is located in southeast and is among the world's least developed and most densely populated countries. All money raised will go directly towards supporting the rural of , on the edge of the south of . Over 500 children attend school in this village with only one headmaster and one teacher. With the support of Accounting for Africa, the objectives of the project are to complete the building of new classrooms and accommodation for new teachers.
How can you help us?
In order to support the Malawi Project, we, fearless and intrepid Grontmij explorers, are off to pit our wits against the wiles and challenges that the north suburbs have to offer.
We shall be putting aside our dignity (and the feeling in certain bodily parts) to bounce our way around Leeds’ on space hoppers aiming for a total distance of 15 km between us! The event will take place on 4th September around 2pm.
