On Saturday 16 Feb at 8.30am both Wendy and Paul had their heads shaved at Francescos Hair Salon in Northwich - thank you Claire and the girls! WHY? We were sent an email from a friend in South Africa about the CANSA Shav-a-thon they were holding on Sat 16 Feb, in memory of Martin Brown (a friends 16 year old son) who sadly passed away recently. The email was asking people to participate and come along and support CANSA ( the South African Cancer Association). Both Paul and I wanted to be able to participate, and despite living thousands of miles away, came up with a plan that meant we could still be involved. We thought why don't we get our heads shaved over here, and with my Dad agreeing to make a donation to CANSA on our behalf, this meant we could join in the shav-a-thon from here in UK. Paul then suggested we try to get sponsorship and the charity, Clic Sargent, came to mind, because of the help and support they provide for children who are affected by cancer. We guess it's our way of doing what little we can. The only drawback is its summer in SA and there will be quite a few more people walking round with bald heads! Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CLIC Sargent will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Many thanks for your support. Cheers Wendy & Paul
