As the Carpenters song goes in April 08 I will be standing "On Top of the World", after having walked 70 miles to the North Pole for the National Deaf Children's Society. It is a bit of a mad idea, especially as I have to sleep in a tent, pull my very own sleigh and all in minus 30 degree temps. The part that is really going to hurt is not having a shower for approximately 16 days - ugh! My training is going well, and I have to practise by pulling a tyre around parks, or perhaps I could do this in Soho!! This is definitely one for "Girl Power" as I will be the only female in a team of 6 people - even our team leader is male!! The society have also had fun getting us insured as apparently when you mention polar bears and guns in the same sentence the line tends to go dead!! Thank you for taking the time to read this note - all joking aside, this is the biggest and most dangerous challenge I will ever undertake and I have a huge financial target to make. I know there are a numerous charities out there but your help would really be appreciated, no matter how small the amount. Lots of thanks, Wendy
