Mission: To Raise awareness of endangered species
Goal: To fund the costs of running the Whale of a Time Workshop at community centers for young people and families living in London
Brief overview of Whale of a Time:
We organise creative workshops on environmental issues to encourage active participation living a sustainable lifestyle inspired by a positive attitude.
The Whale of a Time Workshop is a fun and hands-on activity, where young and old are able to model whales and other endangered species out of clay, and at the same time learn about the environment, biodiversity and sustainability.

The Whale of a Time Workshop has been very successful at shows, festivals and schools including WhaleFest in Brighton & Hove, Mayor's Thames Festival 2011, Redbridge Carnival 2011, Green Roadshow in Dagenham 2011, National Living Seas Programme / Coastal Capers organised by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust during the National Marine Week, London Green Fair 2011, Gaunt's House Summer Gathering, Mayor's Thames Festival 2010, The Lambeth Country Show, Green Man, the Big Green Gathering, London Urban Green Fair, Sail Power and Watersports Show 2008 and Earl's Court Boat Show 2007, where we provided the main attraction for a children and family zone. We have also experience working with special needs children - Lambeth Cross Roads - as well as schools and many other events.
The Whale of a Time Workshop won the London region of the Future Friendly Awards 2011, the NHS Community Wellbeing Competition 2010 and the Making a Big Difference Award 2010. Whale of a Time was nominated for the London Peace Awards 2010 and 2011 and the Archant London Environmental Awards 2009.

How we would spend the funds:
The funding will contribute to run workshops for the local community at festivals, local community centres, schools, hospitals, a special needs centre or any other community and youth event for the benefit of everybody and our planet.
The Whale of a Time Workshop is free of charge to participants and there is no joining fee to become a “Friend of the Whale” (member)
With the funding we would be able to cover the running costs of the workshop including materials, tools, insurance and transportation.
The funding will make a big difference for the local community, as we’ll be able to organise the Whale of a Time Workshop and reach thousands of children, teenagers and adults. Participants will have the opportunity to get involved in a good cause whilst learning about endangered species and sustainability in a fun and creative way whilst having a whale of a time.
Please consider supporting our creative and educational workshop. It’s so much fun for people to participate and exactly what is needed especially for children to be able to connect with nature in a big city like London. Many species are threatened to go extinct if we don’t change our behaviour towards our environment. Education can go a long way and help to preserve our planet for future generations.
Every drop in the ocean counts…. Thank you for your support!
Have a whale of a Time! :)
