About our charity : Breast Cancer Haven Breast Cancer Haven
Being diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing treatment affects a patient both physically and emotionally. Breast Cancer Haven offers a free programme of care to help patients and those supporting them during this difficult time. Havens are welcoming day centres staffed by a specialist team who provide support, information and complementary therapies before, during and after medical treatment. There are currently Havens in London and Hereford and we are busy raising funds to open our third Haven in Leeds by the end of 2008. With over 44,000 cases of breast cancer diagnosed in the UK every year, more Havens are needed and we aim to create a network of Havens across the country so that one day everyone will be within reach of a Haven. It costs approximately £1,000 per person cared for at a Haven and in the absence of any government funding, the charity is dependent on charitable donations and fundraising events to continue delivering this vital service and to build new Havens

Our personal message:

RACE UPDATE: Congratulations to the girls - starting 250th, finished up 123rd, with a time of 23:09.03 just over 30 seconds behind the winners of the Novice Club classification! A huge well done to all those involved! And thanks especially go to Andy Turner of Kings School Canterbury BC for the loan of a boat and assistance with the training and race!

Unfortunately we haven't yet reached our target of £500 (slightly to the relief of the girls - as it was far too cold to race in bras!) But we are still working hard to reach our target to please sponsor the girls for their efforts.

=================================================================

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.  Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

We are a composite crew of ladies from the South East Coastal Region. We come from Herne Bay, Deal, Dover and Folkestone Rowing Clubs and are joining together to experience rowing in an eight boat together for the first time! We are in it for the fun of it - but at the same time thought it would be a good opportunity to help raise money towards the events selected charity Breast Cancer Haven!

And if we reach our target before race day - we promise to race in our bras!

So donate some pennies and help support us in our challenge!

Thank you! - from the Women's Head of the River SECRRC* crew!
