“We’re really nervous about the jump, especially me because I’ve experienced it before and know what to expect. I’m sure a little bit of adrenaline will get me through it, and knowing it’s for a really good cause makes it worthwhile. We are planning to do the jump dressed as super girls, and we will also be in city centre on 3 October, in our costumes, collecting as much money as possible from shoppers so please come down and support us.”
Rose is a domestic abuse support worker for Victim Support, and has organised the events with Jolene to raise as much money as possible for those who have been affected by crime. Jolene has suffered severe domestic violence, and has had a lot of help from Victim Support to help her move on with her life. She now wants to give something back to them.
Jolene said: “I have literally been through hell and back and no woman should ever have to experience such things. I am still fighting and I will never give up and with the help of Victim Support and wonderful people such as Rose, it makes the fight a little easier. I am jumping for every sufferer of domestic abuse and to prove that although it isn’t easy, there is a way out and that with that strength you have within and with the help from others, you can break the cycle”.
We organised a race night and raised over £200, and also stood in the very wet weather to raise £170!!
