<p><span style="color: #ff0000;">Well I'm not in on the VLM ballot. I ran this marathon in 4 hrs 46 mins and 46 seconds - not my best time by far - but hey I got there. I had blisters on the soles of my feet from 10 miles in - probably caused by my feet being soaked through after only one mile and then - horror of horrors - my ipod stopped working at 1.5 miles due to the damp conditions - I managed to get it working again at 11 miles. I said never again but who knows- the entry for 2012 is open and maybe if I do enter I will actually find the time to train properly...... Got your running paws on Maxi boy?</span></p>

<p><span style="color: #800080;">Sadly this is most likely the last marathon I will ever run (unless I get in on the VLM ballot for next year of course....) so this could be your last chance to sponsor me! I'm hoping to beat last years time of 4 hrs 25 mins and 44 seconds.... If that bloomin' hill at 19 miles doesn't catch me out again...... I really should have got in to the habit of training properly for these things. </span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">My wee running buddy is enjoying his early morning jaunts with me but I think he wonders why I can't run as fast as him.....</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I'm taking up the challenge this year, as you can see, for Help For Heroes and would be grateful for any donations. I'm not at all in favour of conflict of any sort but the good men and women that are injured serving the country deserve a little support I think - they are all heroes in my eyes... and some of them are no more than kids really</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #800080;">I'll set a little challenge here, if I reach my fundraising target of £350 my - *ahem* - lovely locks - will be getting the chop - well I always did want to be a skin head. If I reach £500 by 02/10/11 I will run the marathon with my new short look dyed a lovely - yet to be decided - shade.</span></p>
