Who I am
Hi, I'm Tom Farmer: an avid windsurfer on a mission! I'm just 17, currently taking my A-level's and hope to study architecture at Newcastle Uni. However I'm taking a year out to do short term mission work and teach windsurfing.
What I'm doing
I will be undertaking a windsurfing challenge to try and raise money for a short term mission trip out to the Dominican Republic. I will be helping to build simple homes for chilldren and families now working and living on a rubbish dump and also helping with a feeding programme. I will be working with a UK based charity called Mission Direct (www.missiondirect.org) who help finance, support and setup projects in some of the poorest parts of the world.
The Challenge
My first challenge is to windsurf from Sunrise to Sunset non-stop! ...I hope to be sailing off on the first day of good wind and weather in August.
My second challenge will be building the homes and school for the Haitian refugees with Mission Direct. I fly out on the 8th August.
Thank you for considering sponsoring me. All your donations and gift aid go straight to Mission Direct fro the project and non whatsoever go to the general fund.

Sponsorship
I need to raise a minimum of £750 to get to the Dominican Republic to do the hard graft of building and getting to know the locals that have been forgotten by the world and every single penny above £750 will go to the project in the Dominican Republic. As the entire project is being run by Mission Direct I can guarantee every brick and bag of cement is brought for by your donations. Every new house we build costs £1800 so the more I raise the more houses get built.
