Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year, I shall mostly be exercising my brain, as my toes want a rest from running! In memory of a dear friend who loved Scrabble, but who passed away suffering from Alzheimer's and for the benefit of anyone who fears losing their identity through this debilitating deterioration, I am planning a 24-hour binge of Scrabble.
The event is all organized now - The venue is Horsham District Scout HQ, in Bishopric (down an alley to the right of Collingwood-Batchellor). I will be there from 10am on Saturday 2 July to 10am on Sunday 3.
email wordysturdy@gmail.com to say when you would like to play
There will be prizes galore, information about Dementia Awareness, Chinese food from Panda House and a raffle. Please come along and support the event. I have set up a website for this and future projects www.wordysturdy.net and there is a page with the details of my Scrabblathon http://www.wordysturdy.net/charity-links/scrabblathon-details/
Essentially I will be taking on challengers who I will charge a small fee (and who will hopefully also get sponsorship) and see if I can manage to play 100 games of Scrabble in a 24 hour period.
